With a background in both art and science, I've worked in many VFX jobs. VFX Supervisor, Stereographer, Compositor, 3D generalist, Tech. Director, Lighting texturing and modelling, Programmer, FX artist, 3D tracking, matchmover, Digital Matte Painter, Match grading, CG supervisor and most recently served as the Compositing Supervisor for Light VFX on the Witcher series

I can design and supervise VFX shots through the whole post process. from script breakdown to shoot supervision and final realisation. I am used to working in teams and can lead or follow.

I like coding, and mostly use Python and JavaScript, making Nuke plugins and using C++ in the maya API as well as doing some mel scripting.

John Downer Productions is a company I have often worked with creating immersive 3D Imax projects, and VR experiences as well as the successful Serengeti series. With JDP I often designed and created the shots using 2D or 3D techniquesd as required. This was fun for me as I got to use a lot of the skills I had aquired, especially 3D tracking, stereography, 3D generalist, photogrammetry, grading , Digitial Matte Painitng and comping.
Nexus is a great studio where I worked on a lot of outstanding projects, including Billie Eilish music vid, Abba, SW Trains, Macy's Xmas special and may other high profile ads.

Along with Stephen Elson, I founded Baseblack, where I set up the pipeline. and was the VFX Supervisor (both on and off set). I used my skills to fill in any gaps that the inititally small team might have - So I worked as a Technical Director, modeler, comper et al. as required.

At Mill Film I worked as a Technical Director on the Harry Potter films and 3D FX animator and senior compositior on Black Hawk Down. I was doing modeling, rigging, lighting, FX animation, 3D tracking, Mel scripting, and writing plug-ins using the Maya C++ API.

Jim Henson's Creature Shop, was another great place to work. I earned credits as a VFX Supervisor, Compositor, Compositng Supervior and Technical Director.I played a pivotal role in establishing the Compositing Department. My first 3D immersive ride, as TD was created here.

I was a Research Fellow at University College London, within the Biomechanical Engineering Department. Here, I used C++ and the Maya API to model and rig various aspects of skin and musculature.

I began my career at the pioneering VFX company CFC, a trailblazer in digital effects for film and the precursor to Filmlight, Keylight, and Lightworks. This was also likely the first company to utilize digital effects in film, pioneering the development of "morphing" and 3D tracking technologies. I started as a compositor, and then Visual Effects Supervisor (both on and off set), and also a Programmer within the R&D department.
